Welcome to Texas Tech University School of Law! We are a dynamic community that also values our original commitment to small class size, great value, and a practical legal education.
When our students graduate, they are prepared to practice. They are known for their dedication, strong work ethic, and resourcefulness. Tech Law alumni have become successful lawyers and judges, both inside and outside the courtroom. Other alumni provide executive leadership, hold in-house counsel positions at major corporations, and work in public-service and governmental organizations.
Whatever your career goals may be, Tech Law can furnish the education to achieve them. Students are our first priority, and we supply a welcoming, supportive environment. Professors are passionate teachers and innovative scholars whose first priority is working closely with students. We offer myriad opportunities to apply classroom concepts, interact with lawyers, business professionals, and government leaders, and get involved with the Lubbock and Texas Tech communities.
Our nationally ranked advocacy programs have captured more than 22 international and national championships and earned more than 75 state and regional titles. The Tech Law clinical programs offer eight hands-on clinical courses for students to participate. For those who enjoy perfecting their legal writing and editing skills, four student-led journals are available. Wherever your passion in the law lies, you will discover a program or student organization to fit your needs.
Texas Tech School of Law has graduated thousands of students, including the first woman to head a major federal law enforcement agency, the Army's highest-ranked military legal officer, and some of the nation's top litigators.
Texas Tech Law offers a robust clinical program, three academic centers, ten dual-degree programs, three concentration programs, a regional externship program, a recognized legal practice program, and a competitive advocacy program that has earned 42 national and international championships.
